For the Design Industry: ASID

Shawn has volunteered with the American Society of Interior Designers, Georgia Chapter, in various Board positions, and served a term as President of the Georgia Chapter.

In recognition of her founding of the Silver Lining Group, which together with Industry Partners and the greater design community, created a haven for designers “between engagements” to strengthen their skills and continue to learn, she was presented the ASID Georgia Chapter Lucille Morgan Award, honoring an individual, organization, or civic body for significant contributions to the community and the field of design.

For Design: MODA

Shawn is proud to be an invited member of the Board of Directors of the Museum of Design Atlanta, the Southeast’s only design museum, and an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institute. MODA’s mission is to advance the understanding and appreciation of design, as the convergence of creativity and functionality through exhibitions, education, and programming for visitors of all ages.

With the Design Industry and For the Community: AEC Cares

STUDIO | A2 was proud to work with the AEC Cares Atlanta Project, in conjunction with the AIA National Convention, for the Covenant House of Georgia, a crisis center for homeless and trafficked youth. We worked with the team to create a new look, complete with interior finishes and custom inspirational signage.

For our Neighborhood : The Druid Hills Tour of Homes & Gardens

Benefitting the historic preservation and green space restoration of the Druid Hills masterplanned community envisioned at the turn of the century by renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted. The Annual Home Tour celebrates the architectural heritage of Historic Druid Hills. Shawn and Edward served as managers at a Neel Reid designed home, and continue to serve on the Tour Committee. They will expand their role and manage all the homes in the coming tour.

For the Future of the Design Industry : SCAD

Both Shawn & Edward have given class lectures, and Edward was an invited Thesis Advisor for Graduate students, at the nationally recognized Savannah College of Art and Design.
